This function block can be used for the following actions:

•Engaging the holding brake

•Opening the software configuration

•Checking the holding brake torque

•Performing a safe test of the holding brake torque (safe brake test)

•Configuring the holding brake control

•Determining the actual status (engaged/released)

The following procedure is performed on the drive when the holding brake torque is checked:

•Holding brake engaged (ACP10PAR_MOTOR_BRAKE_ON_TIME)

•Testing torque applied to the axis with jerk limitation (jerk time 100 ms)

•Testing torque maintained on the axis (100 ms)

•Testing torque removed from the axis with jerk limitation (jerk time 100 ms)

Information:

•Once a holding brake test is started, it cannot be aborted by an action from another function block.

Caution!

•Releasing the motor holding brake causes movements to occur on shafts that are under load.

•Moving the shaft with the motor holding brake engaged causes the holding brake to wear out prematurely.
