Additional information

The encoder data is read in the read section of the cyclic link data, 5 of which are available per ACOPOS communication channel. This is the same section used for master-slave couplings. Reading an encoder with this function block occupies 2 to 5 (type mcINC_REF) read channels, so only a limited number are available for reading additional values (axis positions) via this communication channel.

The cyclic read data represents a load on the system and bus. A limited number of data bytes are available per transferred record depending on the bus type being used. A large amount of read data can reduce the rate at which data is updated.
